Wicker weaving is common to many cultures worldwide. It is the interweaving of plant materials through a framework of other plant materials. Honeysuckle baskets were made with chase weaving a technique of wicker work in which two weavers of different colors chase each other in alternate weaving rounds over an even number of flat splints. The kit comes packed in a plastic bag that can be used to store materials while you make your basket. Baskets are woven containers. They are extremely important to human existence because they allow for the storage of food and carrying of resources.
